Business Terms
These Business Terms supplement the Kai Terms of Service and apply when you buy, provide, or manage an offering through Kai Business. Kai Research Inc. operates the platform. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Business brings together offerings from creators, educators, independent professionals, community organizers, and businesses. These terms cover the offerings described below as they become available. Some capabilities remain in development. A description of a planned capability does not make it available or promise that it will launch. The published offer and checkout identify what you can actually buy.
1. Your purchase and its provider
A Business purchase is separate from your general Kai subscription and from purchases in Store. Buying a creator membership, course, Group, or coaching service does not upgrade your Kai plan or add AI usage unless the actual offer expressly includes it.
The business identified in the offer is responsible for the promised content or service. Kai is the Stripe merchant for Business purchases processed through Kai's Stripe checkout; Stripe processes the payment. That payment role does not make a creator or service provider a Kai employee or make Kai the provider of their professional services. The checkout identifies any other billing provider and its applicable purchase terms.
Before you pay, the offer must explain:
- the business providing the offering, what you receive, and any eligibility requirements;
- the price, currency, taxes or other charges, billing period, and any renewal or trial terms;
- when access or service begins and ends, what updates are included, and any additional Kai plan or equipment requirements;
- any cancellation, refund, rescheduling, or gift-acceptance conditions that apply.
The specific terms presented for your purchase govern that offering together with these Business Terms and the Kai Terms. Later edits to a product listing do not silently replace your purchased terms. Nothing in an offer or these terms limits rights that applicable law does not allow us or a provider to waive.
2. Products, courses, memberships, and Groups
Digital offerings may include learning materials, guides, collections, courses, programs, and bundles. You receive the stated license to view, save, or use the product. A purchase does not transfer the creator's copyright or permit redistribution, resale, or sharing paid material outside the allowed audience. Saving a product does not by itself grant permission to use it after its license ends.
Each benefit has its own access term. Access may last while a membership is active, for a stated fixed period, or, for a product expressly sold that way, without a scheduled expiration. A permanent product license does not by itself promise future versions, personal coaching, live services, or indefinite operation of the platform. It remains subject to the purchased license, valid refund or revocation rules, and the Kai Terms. A membership ending does not revoke an expressly permanent product benefit merely because it was included with that membership.
The offer states whether you receive the specified version or also receive future published versions. Feedback, consultations, event attendance, and ongoing updates are included only when stated. Any loyalty reward follows its stated qualifying paid-period requirements; refunded or disputed payments may stop qualifying and affect the associated reward.
A creator membership can include no Groups, one Group, or several. A Group may also be sold separately. If you have access from more than one valid purchase, ending one source does not erase the others. Overlapping benefits do not automatically create a refund, credit, extra time, or subscription change.
Purchasing Group access does not automatically join you to that Group. Joining remains your choice and is subject to the Group's admission requirements and our Community Rules. Payment does not grant moderator privileges or override safety restrictions or a valid removal.
3. Billing, renewal, and cancellation
One-time purchases, prepaid terms, and recurring memberships are different commitments. Prepayment buys the stated term; it is not automatically a monthly installment plan. A recurring offering renews only under the renewal terms you accept at purchase. We require your authorization before charging you and disclose the amount or how it is determined, charge frequency, and how to cancel.
Use the cancellation controls for the provider that bills you. For Business subscriptions billed through Kai, use the purchase's subscription-management controls; contact Support if you cannot access them. Cancellation normally stops future renewal at the end of the paid period and does not itself refund an earlier payment. Any different offer-specific cancellation rights still apply. A supported membership switch shows its effective date and financial terms before you accept it; overlapping access alone does not authorize a switch or a prorated credit.
Deleting your Kai account does not automatically cancel a subscription billed by an external app store or other provider. Cancel those subscriptions with that provider before deletion if you do not want them to renew. See Account Deletion.
4. Refunds and payment disputes
Except where required by law or promised in the offer, fees are non-refundable and partial periods do not receive automatic credits. For a purchase billed by an app store, use that store's refund process. For a Business purchase billed through Kai, contact Support with the purchase and the problem. Providers must honor their published refund and cancellation policies. A request or an accepted return is not confirmation that money has reached your payment method.
For Business content and access purchases, a successful refund of any amount for a paid period removes all benefits funded by that period, including permanent product benefits. A partial monetary refund does not preserve a proportional part of the license. Other independently funded purchases and periods keep their own rights. Where a community gift purchase supports returns of individual unclaimed gifts, the stated gift-return process identifies which gifts are affected.
An unresolved or lost payment dispute can suspend access funded by that payment. Verified resolution may restore eligible access, but it does not reverse an account deletion, restore consent you withdrew, or undo an access license you explicitly surrendered. These consequences do not limit your right to dispute a charge or seek a remedy available under law.
5. Coaching and personal services
The provider must identify the coach or other service professional, agreed services, service dates, price, and cancellation and refund policy. A consultation must also state its appointment time and any cancellation or rescheduling deadline. The provider is responsible for accurately describing qualifications, staying within the services they may lawfully provide, and delivering the agreed service. Kai does not promise a particular result from a service. The health and wellness notice in the Kai Terms applies to health-related services.
Paying for coaching and agreeing to share information are separate actions. You choose whether to share the requested information with the assigned coach. Workspace administration, Group membership, a paid invoice, or a coaching purchase does not give every staff member access to your private information, including health records. Changing the coach or relationship terms requires your renewed acceptance before sharing continues under those terms.
You may revoke sharing consent even during a payment dispute. Revocation stops access through that coaching relationship and may prevent the coach from continuing services that need the information. It does not automatically cancel a recurring payment or refund an earlier charge. Ending service, stopping renewal, and requesting a refund are separate actions; use the applicable controls and the agreed service policy. Payment recovery never restores consent you withdrew.
If the coaching arrangement is complimentary or paid outside Kai, that arrangement does not mean Kai collected the payment or manages its refund. The provider remains responsible for the agreed service and external payment terms.
6. Events and live sessions
When an event ticket is offered, the listing must identify the organizer, event or session, date and time, attendance format, price, eligibility, and cancellation or rescheduling terms. An event ticket covers the stated attendance rights. Recordings, replay, related memberships, and coaching are included only if the offer says so.
The organizer must accurately describe capacity and participation conditions and explain material changes, cancellations, or failures to deliver the event. The purchased policy and applicable law govern the resulting remedy. Payment does not override safety rules or give another person permission to use a named ticket.
7. Voluntary support and gifts
Voluntary support helps a creator without implicitly purchasing content, membership, coaching, or a personal response. A themed gift may include the stated presentation in a Post, chat, live session, or other supported destination. Its display is subject to the destination's audience, safety rules, and moderation. Hiding a gift or message does not itself refund the contribution. Calling a payment "support" or a "gift" does not make it a tax-deductible charitable donation.
If Hypes or another virtual gifting balance is offered, its purchase screen identifies the pack, permitted uses, and app or platform restrictions. Hypes balances are separate across billing platforms, and purchased Hypes have no scheduled expiration. Purchasing Hypes does not itself buy access or send a gift. Refunds or payment reversals may remove the affected units and reverse gifts funded by them. The disclosed pack and gift terms apply in addition to these terms.
A gift of access is different from voluntary support. The offer and gift details identify the recipient or eligible community, included benefits, acceptance deadline, and when the access term starts. Named Business access gifts currently allow 30 days from payment for the recipient to accept; a prepaid access term begins on acceptance. Gifts do not silently replace an existing membership, extend overlapping access, start recurring billing for the recipient, join a Group, or authorize health-data sharing.
A funded named gift that is declined, canceled before acceptance, or expires unclaimed requires a return through the payment process. A pending return is not a completed refund. After acceptance, the payer cannot simply take the recipient's access back by canceling the gift. Applicable refunds, disputes, eligibility restrictions, and the recipient's right to give up access still apply. Community gifts follow their disclosed allocation and unclaimed-return rules.
8. Responsibilities for businesses and staff
You must be an adult to create or manage a Business offer or payout account, and have authority to act for the business you represent. Keep business details and offer terms accurate. You are responsible for permissions given to staff and for their activity on the business's behalf. Use customer information only as authorized for the service and protect it appropriately. Do not use a person's sharing permission for unrelated advertising, publication, or onward disclosure.
Workspace management, Group administration, coaching access, and payout control are separate responsibilities. Payout onboarding belongs to the legal payout recipient's controlling user. An administrator cannot take control of another recipient's payout account merely by managing a workspace or Group.
You must hold the rights needed to provide your products, substantiate advertising claims, and comply with applicable consumer-protection, privacy, professional, and tax obligations. Do not misrepresent credentials or results, create false reviews, or hide a material sponsorship or affiliate relationship. Required commercial disclosures must appear with the relevant recommendation or offer, not only in these terms.
Kai currently charges a 0% platform fee on Business purchases through its Stripe checkout. Stripe processing fees, applicable taxes, refunds, disputes, and transfer reversals can still reduce proceeds. Zero percent does not mean the provider receives the entire amount the customer pays, and it is not a promise that future fee terms will never change. Applicable fee changes will be disclosed for future transactions.
Kai transfers the remaining proceeds after applicable deductions and provider availability requirements. We may delay, withhold, or reverse funds to handle refunds or disputes, correct errors, address fraud, or comply with provider requirements or law. Payment confirmation does not guarantee that a payout has completed. Stripe onboarding and payout terms also apply. Kai may suspend an offering, checkout, transfer, or payout account as described in the Kai Terms.
9. Help
For a missing purchase, access problem, cancellation, refund, or concern about a provider, visit Support or email [email protected]. Include the offering and purchase reference if available; do not send full payment-card details or sensitive health records to identify a billing issue.
