More ways to connect. More room to choose.

A shared activity can become a friendship. A thoughtful message can keep one going. Meeting someone new can be easier when the format makes room for attention and a clear choice.

Connection is central to the Kai we are building. Kai, Messages, and Spark serve different moments in that story. These are pre-launch product directions, with capabilities still in development.

Find people through the things you share

Kai is the main social app and ecosystem hub. Profiles, Posts, Groups, and Events give people ways to discover one another and participate at a comfortable level.

A Group is a community with a general chat and optional topic channels. Events can bring people together around an activity. Challenges can start as personal goals and become shared experiences when their creator invites others.

Participation should remain a choice. A Group's weekly distance challenge should not enroll everyone automatically. A leaderboard should include people who opted in. Sharing progress should not expose the private records behind it.

Let everyday conversation continue

Messages is intended to offer the same ordinary direct and group conversations available in Kai, in a dedicated app. The relationship should not depend on which entry point someone prefers.

We are also exploring formats that give people simple reasons to create something together. A Zap begins with a prompt and a response, then invites others to add their own. Each contribution keeps its own audience. Passing a prompt along does not expand access to an existing private Post.

Shoutouts make appreciation more deliberate. A writer submits a short testimonial privately to a profile owner, who chooses whether it appears publicly. Approval and authorship matter more than a score or star rating.

Give an introduction your attention

Spark is designed around live, one-person-at-a-time dating introductions. Two mutually eligible people meet when both are ready. Either can pass; mutual interest opens a private Spark chat.

Each person has one active Spark match. That creates space to focus on an introduction while leaving both people free to decide whether the connection is right for them.

When both want to keep talking outside the active match, they can mutually Continue on Kai. The connection moves into ordinary Kai messaging and the active Spark match ends. That transition does not publish their dating history or disclose private compatibility information.

Boundaries make connection possible

A public profile and private dating context are different things. An anonymous Group alias does not remove accountability for safety enforcement. A shared collection does not change the original audience of the content inside it.

These boundaries are part of the product experience. Blocking, reporting, moderation, and each participant's own decisions need to carry through the formats we build.

Good connection leaves room for an enthusiastic yes, a quiet pause, or a clear no. We are designing Kai around all three.
